A note about Exercise:
As you will have learnt by now from The Alternate Diet, losing weight is achieved by consuming less calories than you expend in a day.
This means that any additional calories you burn through exercise can help you lose weight more quickly.
It is important, though, that this is not done in a way that depletes the body ie. by trying to burn many more calories than are being eaten. This may lead to exhaustion and illness. Any exercise undertaken should be in line with the food eaten to fuel the body.
Please remember to consult your Doctor before commencing any exercise regimen.
Aim to achieve at least 30 minutes of exercise every day by doing something – anything – which is reasonable for your situation. Begin with some movement, once per day, that is very achievable. Don’t choose anything that is too strenuous to avoid causing over-exertion at the start. Everybody’s circumstances are different, so you will need to use logic in your decision regarding exercise. Always choose exercise that is enjoyable, appropriate and sustainable for your current situation and lifestyle.
Should you want to record your exercise or establish how many calories you burn, a Fitbit, Pedometer or similar wearable device will be useful. The accuracy and consistency of a Fitbit is perfect for our purpose, making it ideal equipment for monitoring exercise input.
Although moderate exercise is recommended to remain healthy, boost your metabolism and burn some additional calories whilst on the diet, it is not recommended that calories used in exercise are added into the daily recording. Energy burnt through exercise will provide a bonus to your day’s performance which will assist to reduce weight.
As well as boosting your weight loss, exercise benefits your body’s joints, bones and muscles, improves your respiratory capabilities and your flexibility. Treat the gains to your health and your mood that exercise brings as a bonus.
