Before I knew it, that stuff that nobody wants was back in a place where I did not need it to be!!
On weighing myself, the scale touched 100 kgs (220 lbs) and I fell into the officially “Obese” range for my height.
I knew that I had to do something immediately!
It was shocking how easy it was to fall into this category, so quickly.
With my attitude of having lost weight before and feeling as if I ‘knew it all’ in preparation for the next time I needed to do it, I thought it would be easy.
Have you ever picked up a bag of cement weighing 20 Kgs ? – well, that’s what I was unnecessarily carrying around with me for years, all the time. There was no choice, no alternative – I just had to carry it with me wherever I went.
Something had to give, which I think were my knees, first, and my back was starting to complain as well! Having already had a heart attack 13 years ago, I knew things had to change.
So I started again, but this time, for the 3rd time around, I was determined to record everything so as to keep track of my progress for a reason, read on …. , but also I was being realistic at the same time because I knew that this was going to make me accountable to myself and this time I could not afford to fail. I knew I was in it for the long term.
This is the trick and is very important. Like everything in life, you must really have the WANT to do it, then the rest is easy. Here is another example of exactly that….
The reason for me recording everything was that I knew what to expect and knew how to do it, having done it twice before, so I decided that recording and logging everything would make sure I was on track AND would assist others as I personally know how difficult it is and what it was like to lose weight the first time round.
This is how The Alternate Diet evolved and now I want to make this simple weight loss diet the most popular diet on Earth - why? - because it’s the easiest one to do and, with just a few set rules, ANYONE can lose weight if they really want to.

The first step is to set a Realistic Goal so, having researched it a little further, I found a comfortable target weight and my first goal was to lose 7 Kilos in three months.
